Post Gamejam Update - v0.2 now available!
Hello everyone!
Welcome, to my first ever game update! Yaaay!
Following the gamejam submission for Neuro's Farm I continued development; now freed from the stress of the 72 hour time limit, I could think clearly about how Godot works and I made several underlining technical changes. For example, chickens no-longer delete themselves, they are deleted by Neuro, which I think is much more fitting. In addition, the chicken is no longer lost for eternity, Neuro strips their sprites and attaches them to her own head, creating a tower of adorable chickens to bring along with her.
Full list of changes:
- Chickens no-longer vibrate in-place, they can move freely to their heart's desire.
In the initial version, every frame a chicken would choose a new random direction and move that way. Unfortunately, chickens are very indecisive and would frequently choose a different direction each frame, making almost no progress at all. In the new changes, chickens only choose a new direction to move in after about 3 seconds of movement. - When you find all the chickens the game informs you with a handy message.
This was one of the top feed-backs during the gamejam, people weren't sure when they had all the chickens. - I've added a main-menu and in-game credits button.
No game is complete without its assets - something I can't produce. So crediting the appropriate authors is vital to any successful product <3 - The new main-menu has cool music.
It doesn't fit at all but it's still cool. - When Neuro picks up a chicken, she places it on her head.
She can stack up to 30 chickens! - The epoch has been reset to 0 and the rate of time has been set to 1.5 seconds.
I'm already at work on the next version, where I will start to pivot to my original idea of creating an actual farming game, something similar to a popular Facebook farming game from 2012, but without all the weird manipulative elements.
Anyway, thanks for reading <3
